Percentage of positive COVID-19 cases continue a slow creep upwards

Delaware health officials report positive cases of Coronavirus continue to trend upward.

 

There were 676 new positive cases of COVID-19 this week, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 17,752.

 

To date, 606 people have died from the virus in the First State, which includes two new deaths this week, with at least one originating from a long term care facility. That brings the total number of deaths from nursing facilities at 368.

 

Hospitalizations continue their trend upwards. As of September 3rd, the current number of hospitalizations is 58.

 

The average number of people testing positive is up slightly from last week, now at 4.6 percent from 4.4 percent. The state is seeing an average of 97 cases per day.
