First State's total COVID-19 cases move past 12,000

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Delaware’s COVID-19 case total now tops 12,000.

State health officials reported 132 new cases Sunday, pushing the First State’s total since March 11 to 12,128.

There were also no new deaths reported for a second straight day, leaving Delaware's death toll during the pandemic at 512.

Current hospitalizations dropped by one to 53 with 15 people critically ill,

The 5-day average of new positive cases has been over 100 for nine consecutuve days and currently stands at nearly 122.  But 5-day average of the percentage of people testing postive sits below 5 for a second day, sitting at 4.5.

Just over 67 hundred people to date are confirmed to have recovered from the virus – while nearly 112,000 people have tested negative.
