First State sees 5 new deaths, 80 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday

Delaware’s COVID-19 saw small upticks in deaths and new cases Tuesday.

 

State health officials reported 5 new deaths, bringing the state’s death toll since the pandemic began to 373.The latest victims were between 65 and 80 years old. Three lived in Kent County and two in Sussex County. All five had underlying health conditions and two lived were long-term care facility residents.
 

New positive cases were up 80 Tuesday.  The total since March 11th is now 9,685.  The 5-day average of percent testing positive and news cases were both down slightly as Monday, 

And hospitalizations continue to decrease - down 2 to 157. 28 are critically ill.

And Delawareans continue to recover. Officials reported 89 additional recoveries Monday — for a total so far of 5,442.
