Christina School District sends students back to remote learning

Another First State school district is temporarily returning its schools to full virtual learning.  

Christina School District announced Monday it is moving all students back to remote learning starting Tuesday – and they’ll stay there through December 4th.

Christina plans to resume hybrid learning on December 7th.

The district cited “concerns in Operational Management” as its reason for the move.

Christina had been rolling out its hybrid learning plan in recent weeks and were scheduled to complete process this Monday – November 30th -when high school students were slated to begin some in-person learning.

District offices will remain open and operate normally – other than planned days off for Thanksgiving this Thursday and Friday.

Christina’s move comes a week after a growing COVID-19 outbreak forced the Colonial School District to return to remote learning until November 30th. temporarily move all of its schools back to virtual learning.

The latest school-related COVID-19 case statistics from the state released Friday showed a total of 234 student cases in Delaware public and private schools since Sept. 1 and 227 cases involving school staff.
