Arts Playlist: 'Our Delaware' at the Historic Odessa Foundation

Staff members at the Historic Odessa Foundation are providing a peek at their personal art collections.

“Our Delaware” - 27 assorted works from those personal collections - is currently on display in the Visitors Center Gallery.

It’s the foundation’s first exhibit of the year, according to assistant curator Brian Miller.

“In March, we have a little bit lower attendance," said Miller. So we thought it would be a really good opportunity to show what the staff at the Museum has collected over the years.”

Miller says the exhibition includes everything from prints and etchings to oils on canvas.

He says there are several well-known artists and works in this exhibition.

“There’s some Robert Shaw etchings. He was a very early engraver and artist in Wilmington, Delaware," said Miller. "We have one of the Old Swedes Church (by Margery Pyle), And we have one of a scene in Wilmington. We have more contemporary artists such as (W.) James McGlynn.”

Miller says it also features one of Delaware’s most celebrated artists, Jack Lewis, known by many for his engaging paintings of scenery throughout the state.

‘Our Delaware’  is on display until March 28.
