The overhaul of Delaware’s Supreme Court is nearly complete as senators unanimously confirmed Collins “CJ” Seitz to sit on the state’s highest judicial body.A corporate lawyer and founding partner of Seitz, Ross, Aronstam & Moritz law firm, Seitz has specialized in corporate, commercial and intellectual property cases for more than 30 years.

His father also served on the Delaware Supreme Court and the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.

Seitz takes over for retiring Justice Henry DuPont Ridgely who stepped down at the end of January.

In a statement, Gov. Jack Markell says “During his legal career of more than three decades, C.J. Seitz has earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence, integrity, and civility.”

Justice Randy Holland is the lone remaining member on the state Supreme Court from when former Chief Justice Myron T. Steele kicked off a storm of resignations and retirements in September 2013.
