Christina School Board fills vacancy

Delaware Public Media

The Christina School Board fills its vacant seat based in Wilmington.

Celita Cherry was selected to take the District A seat replacing Shannon Troncoso who resigned in December.

Cherry - an empowerment coach - was appointed to the board over Joseph Lewis, a former teacher at the Delaware School for the Deaf.

She’s a Wilmington native, and her appointment is for the rest of the school year.

The seat will be up for election this spring to fill out the remaining term, and Cherry has filed to run in May’s election.

Joe brings over 20 years of experience in news and radio to Delaware Public Media and the All Things Considered host position. He joined DPM in November 2019 as a reporter and fill-in ATC host after six years as a reporter and anchor at commercial radio stations in New Castle and Sussex Counties.
