The search to replace Superintendent Mark Holodick starts in earnest this week in the Brandywine School District.
Brandywine School Board President Ralph Ackerman says the district hopes to have the new superintendent in place on July 1st.
"We've engaged the Delaware School Board Association executive director to assist us in the superintendent search," said Ackerman. "We will have two forums one of PS DuPont and one at Concord High School to just kind of gain some public input what qualities and things our public will like to see as part of the superintendent job posting and job description."
This week’s meetings are Monday at P.S. DuPont Middle School in Wilmington from 7-to-9 p.m., and Wednesday at Concord High School in North Wilmington from 6-to-8 p.m.
Ackerman adds the position will be advertised in February, and then the board will set up a process to vet candidates.
"We would expect to be having either an interview committee for initial interviews after there's been a paper screening, and then some final interviews by the board with an announcement and expectation that we would have somebody in place by July 1st."
While the search is underway, Lincoln Hohler will serve as Interim Superintendent, taking over for Holodick on February 1.
