National Weather Service offers details on two additional tornadoes Thursday in Kent County

The National Weather Service offers details on the tornado that hit Marydel last Thursday and confirms a third tornado hit Kent County .

The EF-1 tornado in Marydel touched down at 5:54 p.m. Thursday - 1 mile south of Marydel – starting on the east side of Grygo Road, about a quarter mile south of the intersection of Mahan Corner Road

It traveled just over a mile and a third over two minutes, reaching 60 yards wide with estimated peak winds between 90-to-10 miles per hour.

There were no reported fatalities or injuries associated with the tornado.

As it traveled east-northeast, it uprooted two very large oak trees that fell on the corner of a home, then destroyed an old barn and shed at residence along Parkers Chapel Rd before dissipating.

The National Weather Service also says an EF-0 tornado touched down around 6:02 p.m. in Hazlettville. It lasted one minute, covering just over a half mile with winds between 70-and 80 miles per hour.It damaged an open-air barn, some chicken houses and some solar panels

Those two tornadoes occurred just minutes before another EF-1 tornado hit Dover packing 100-110 mile and hour winds and doing substantial damage to the Dover Little League fields, the Kraft/Heinz facility, and the Superlodge and Days Inn motels on Route 13.
