Another 2 COVID-19 deaths and 146 more cases were reported in the First State Sunday.
State health officials say Delaware has now seen 35 deaths related to the virus. The latest deaths were of two female residents of long-term care facilities in Sussex County, both with underlying health conditions. One was 88 years old and the other was 33, the youngest person to die from the virus in Delaware to date.
In accordance with new guidance from the U.S. Centers for the Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), D elaware's Division of Public Health is now reporting deaths involving lab-confirmed cases as well as "probable” cases, where an individual had clinically consistent symptoms and was exposed to a confirmed case, but had not been tested.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Delaware since March 11 is now 1,625. Current hospitalizations in Delaware, including residents and non-residents, stand at 201, up 11 from the 190 reported Saturday. Fifty-one people are critically ill.
The number of people considered recovered has risen to 213, up 22 from Saturday's report.
And the number of negative tests reported is up 571 from Saturday. It's now 10,195.
