Second day of Slam Dunk tourney sees a near upset

Day two of the 2017 Slam Dunk to the Beach tournament in Lewes saw one of the nation’s top-ranked teams get a scare.

New Jersey’s Roselle Catholic High School, ranked 12th in the USA Today boys’ national Top 25, fended off Maryland’s Eleanor Roosevelt high school 76-72 Friday afternoon.

Roselle Catholic plays Delaware’s 4th ranked team Salesianum Saturday at 1:30.

The Sals are looking to rebound from a 64-63 overtime loss to 5th ranked Caesar Rodney on day one of the tourney Thursday.

Delaware’s top-ranked team is among those playing on Saturday’s third and final day of the Slam Dunk tournament.  Sanford faces Maryland’s Bishop Walsh High School at 3 pm.
