Elena Delle Donne and the U.S. Women’s basketball team will play for Olympic gold in Rio.
Team USA handled France 86-67 in the semi-finals Thursday. Playing without injured starting point guard Sue Bird, the U.S. struggled a bit – leading just 40-36 at halftime before pulling away.
Delle Donne -the former Ursuline Academy and University of Delaware star – posted 5 points, 2 rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes off the bench.
The U.S. will try to lock up its sixth straight Olympic gold medal against Spain Saturday. Team USA beat Spain in the preliminary round 103-63,
