The U.S women’s field hockey team’s run at the Summer Olympics in Rio is over
Team USA was eliminated in the quarterfinals, edged by Germany 2-1 Monday.
Delawarean Katelyn Falgowski scored the only U.S. goal in the loss.
The team - which also includes Delaware’s Caitlin Van Sickle – had hoped to make a run at its first Olympic medal since 1984.
Team USA finishes the Olympic tournament with a 4-2 record, a much better showing than four years ago when they finished last in a 12 team field.
