A portion of the Gordons Pond Trail in Cape Henlopen State Park will be closed for repairs.
The southern section of the trail -- covering 2.5 miles -- was battered by the high winds and tides from the recent storm.
The storm had washed away much of the stone used to build the trail.
Officials determined the section unsafe for public use and estimate that they won’t reopen it until spring.
However, a three-quarter mile section of the trail from the Herring Point parking area to the boardwalk will remain open.
