Amazon anounces 4,000 seasonal jobs in Delaware

Amazon Middletown

Online retail giant Amazon says it’s adding 120 thousand new seasonal jobs across the country in preparation for the holiday season - including some in the First State.

The jobs will be spread across its fulfillment centers, sortation centers and customer service sites.

Four thousand of them will be at Amazon sites in New Castle and Middletown.

The new hires will pick, pack and ship customer orders.

Amazon officials  - in a statement -  said “Every year, thousands of seasonal positions lead to regular, full-time roles with the company.”

Amazon’s two Delaware sites currently employ about 4,000 full-time workers, according to the News Journal. And the state has said it will make a pitch for the company’s new second headquarters - which is slated to bring  $5 billion in investments and 50,000 jobs to wherever it lands.

Applicants for the Amazon’s seasonal positions in the First State can visit Amazon dot com slash peak jobs for more details.
