State grant to help create 28 new jobs at Kraft Heinz's Dover facility

Delaware Public Media

28 full-time jobs will be coming to Dover, thanks to a state economic development grant.

Delaware’s Economic Development Office announced this week it’s awarding the food producer Kraft Heinz nearly $1.2 million dollars in grants.

The company will receive $1,050,000 in state funds to assist in a $35 million redevelopment of its Dover food-production facility.

Kraft Heinz will receive an additional $131,130 to create 28 full-time jobs at that Dover facility. It’s currently unclear what type of positions will be created, or how much each job will pay.

The redevelopment must be completed and the jobs created before the company can receive the funds.  Kraft Heinz is also required to certify the jobs will remain in place through 2020.
