First State drivers are enjoying a Valentine’s Day gift at the gas pump this weekend.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular in Delaware plunged seven cents over the past 7 days - falling from $1.76 a week ago to $1.69 this week.
And that’s 47 cents below the $2.16 stations were charging a year ago.
Prices nationwide also fell – down four cents from $1.74 to $1.60, And the average price nationally has now been below $2 a gallon for 27 straight days.
Delawaregasprices.com reports over a dozen stations across all three countries selling for $1.59 or less. The cheapest reported price is $1.57 at stations in Milton and Smyrna.
