New exhibition series opens at Rehoboth Art League

The Rehoboth Art League (RAL) welcomes spring with a new exhibition series.

It starts Friday and includes three new shows that feature abstract imagery, animation and sound and mixed media.

The League’s exhibition director Nick Serratore says its Henlopen Acres Campus hosts The Old and the New: A Retrospective of Aina Nergaard -Nammack in the Corkran Gallery.

“Aina is very well known in the state of Delaware. She’s also well known in surrounding states as well," said Serratore. "She has received many awards; her work has been accepted into many museum exhibitions. She did have an exhibition of her own at the Biggs Museum (in Dover). And this body of work chronicles her past 70 years as an artist.”

Other exhibits include Pipes of Perception in the Tubbs Gallery and Micro/Macro in the ventures Gallery.

Serratore says the Rehoboth Art League is also honoring the life and art of Lee Wayne Mills.

“Lee passed away last year, He was a prominent artist in the are. He was also very much a part of the Rehoboth Art League. And we’re remembering him." said Serratore. "He was also interim exhibitions director. And so we have some highlights of his work and some narratives of his life.”

The series runs through May 2, and can be viewed Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
