COVID-19 hospitalizations tick up

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Delaware health officials report another death related to COVID-19 and a few hundred new cases of the virus over the weekend.

To date, 605 people in the First State have died from complications related to COVID-19 - 448 of whom had at least one underlying health condition. 

And 17,429 people have tested positive for the virus in Delaware.

Statewide hospitalizations have been on an uptick in recent days. After hovering around 40 and as low as 32 earlier this month, current hospitalizations stand at 58, with 16 people considered critically ill.

The average number of people testing positive for the virus in Delaware is at 4.9 percent and the state is seeing an average of just over 92 new cases per day.
