Dover Police is offering more information on Sunday night’s looting at the Dover Mall.
Police announced one arrest in connection to the looting, which they say started around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night when a large crowd reach the mall.
According to police, looting suspects entered the mall by breaking a glass door to Forever 21 and several people stole items from that store.
Inside the mall, security gates and entry doors to T-Mobile and Foot Locker were damaged, but no one got into those stores.
Police say some did get into Villa Shoe Store, stealing a large amount of clothing and shoes there.
The man arrested was seen by officers downtown just after midnight Monday with two new boxes of sneakers and a coat with tags still on it. They took his information as part of the investigation.
Later Monday around 11 a.m., another burglary alarm sounded at the shoe store, and when police arrived, they found and arrested the man inside the storage area as he tried to steal more merchandise.
Dover Police previously reported two arrests - one for throwing rocks at a police vehicle and the other for an attempt to steal items from the front of a Home Depot.
