Delaware sees no new COVID-19 deaths again

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Delaware added another 74 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, but no new deaths.

The death total remains at 507 for a third straight day. And the state has seen just 3 deaths over the past week.

The new positive cases push the state’s total to 11,091 since March 11th.

Gov. John Carney says he plans to make a decision on moving the state Phase 3 of its reopening plan early this week.

He delayed that move to wait on results from a large testing event Thursday in Rehoboth Beach,  and in response to concerns about compliance with mask-wearing and social distancing

Delaware continues to see its 5-day averages for percent of people testing positive and positive cases start to trend up slightly.

And hospitalizations ticked up Saturday from 78 to 83 – with 15 people critically ill.

Overall, over 93,000 COVID-19 tests in the First State have returned negative and 6,665 people have recovered from the virus.
