The First State added 5 new COVID-19 related deaths Saturday, but hospitalizations for the virus drop below 100 for the first time in more than two months.
Delaware’s COVID-19 death toll is now 419 since March 11th. The latest victims were between 72 and 89 years old. Three were from Kent County and one each from New Castle and Sussex County. All 5 were long-term–care facility residents with underlying health conditions.
But current hospitalizations dropped again, falling to 93. It’s the first time hospitalizations have been below 100 since April 4th. 14 people are critically ill.
State health officials also report 56 new positive cases, pushing the total to date to 10,229.
54 more people are considered recovered from the virus. That takes the overall total to 6,116
