New COVID-19 cases dipped in Delaware, but hospitalizations were back up.
Health officials report the state recorded 593 new cases Saturdaym down from the record 1,090 Friday.
That pushed Delaware’s 7-day rolling average for new cases back below 800 – at just below 794 (793.7)
But COVID-related hospitalizations statewide rose hitting 357 after dropping to 348 the day before. 55 people are considered in critical condition.
The First State also saw one new COVID-related death – a 91-year-old New Castle County resident with underlying conditions and living in a long-term care facility. Delaware’s death toll is now 816.
Delaware has now had over 45,000 positive cases of COVID-19 out of nearly 836,000 tests.
The state’s seven day rolling percentage of positive tests is holding below 10 at 9.4 percent.
