The City of Seaford has hired its new police chief.
The Mayor and Council voted Tuesday night to give Marshall Craft, Jr., the job.
Craft comes from Delaware State Police where he started his career in 1989 and reached the rank of Captain.
He replaces Robert Kracylawho left the post in March to become Middletown’s police chief.
In a statement, Craft says he plans to continue having the department build trust-based relationships with the community and local businesses so it can to provide fair, compassionate, and impartial police services.
Craft takes over a Seaford Police Department with 26 officers, 9 dispatchers and 2 administrators.
He’ll be sworn in on Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
