Poppiti adds name to race for Lt. Governor

Another Democrat is putting his name in the 2016 race for Lt. Governor.

Ciro Poppiti used his Facebook page Friday to announce he will officially launch his campaign at Saturday’s Sussex County Democratic Committee Jamboree.

Poppiti is currently in his second term as New Castle County Register of Wills.  He was reelected in 2014 – running unopposed.

He’s the latest Democrat to throw his hat in the ring – joining Kent County Levy Court commissioner Brad Eaby and former Sussex County Register of Wills Greg Fuller in the primary.

No Republicans have announced yet they are running for Lt. Governor.

The Lt. Governor’s office has been vacant since Matt Denn stepped down after being elected state Attorney General last November.
