Delle Donne named WNBA Most Valuable Player

Delaware Public Media

Former Blue Hen hoop star Elena Delle Donne can add another line to her already impressive resume.

The WNBA announced Wednesday that Delle Donne is its 2015 league MVP.

The Chicago Sky forward led the league in scoring, posting 23.4 points per game.  She also averaged 8.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.0 blocks this year while hitting a league-leading 95 percent of her free throws.

Delle Donne and the Sky open their WNBA playoff run Thursday, hosting Indiana in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Sky, led by Delle Donne, reached the WNBA Finals last year before being swept by Phoenix.
