The 81st Annual Members’ Fine Art Exhibition opens this week at the Rehoboth Art League (RAL).";

The Rehoboth Art League (RAL) will host their 81st Annual Members’ Fine Art Exhibition starting this week.

Nick Serratore is the exhibitions director at RAL.

He says this year’s exhibition will kick off Friday with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. and then the artwork will be on display until September 1, 2019.

Serratore says patrons visiting the exhibition will see a diverse mixture of work.

“We have everything from contemporary to traditional. Digital media has also come into the mainstream right now, so we do receive a lot of applicants displaying that work," he said. "And again, we encourage the artists to give it their best shot - because hey - this is their presentation.”

And Serratorenotes the exhibition will feature over 100 Rehoboth Art League artists.

"We display in such a way that it’s not going to be overwhelming. We try our best to make sure that each piece stands out. We make sure there is space around them," he explained. "So it’s a carefully thought out exhibition for display for the public when they come and see it.”

Serratore says this year’s awards judge is Leslie Shaffer - the interim executive director at the Delaware Contemporary in Wilmington. Besides being a judge, you can join Shaffer at RAL on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. for an informative gallery talk about her award-winning selections.
