The Delaware Shakespeare Festival is changing its name. It will be now known as simply Delaware Shakespeare.

By chopping off the last word, organizers said it better reflects the company's expanding offerings.

Delaware Shakespeare has grown from a summer festival to include a community tour that visits shelters, community centers and prisons across The First State.

"We will continue to produce theater in which people from all walks of life can celebrate and explore their shared humanity through the lens of Shakespearean works," Producing Artistic Director David Stradley said in a release.

The Summer Festival takes the stage with a production of Henry V  July 14-30 at Rockwood Park in Wilmington.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from theDelaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
