2016 Firefly Music Festival lineup announced

The lineup for the 2016 edition of the Firefly Music Festival has been revealed.

Mumford and Sons, Florence and the Machine, Kings of Leon and Deadmau5 are the headliners for the fifth edition of Firefly which returns to the Woodlands on the grounds of Dover International Speedway, June 16-19, 2016.

Kings of Leon’s scheduled headlining set at this year's Firefly Festival was canceled because of a lightning storm which resulted in a full evacuation of the festival grounds.

The 2016 lineup boasts a total of 104 acts, including punk-pop band Blink-182, Death Cab for Cutie, Ellie Goulding, and Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala.

And once again there will be a local flavor to event. Wilmington-based  Teen Men have signed on to play. Two members of that band performed at Firefly two years ago as part of Delaware's The Spinto Band.

Firefly promoters say attractions such as the Dogfish Head Brewery, The Beercade, The Coffee House, The Market, The Thicket, and Hammock Hangout will return and new experiences will also debut at the 2016 event.

General Admission and VIP pass options go on sale this Friday, at 11am through FireflyFestival.com. General Admission passes start at $279. Camping packages will also be available on Friday.

This piece is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
