Delaware passed the thirty thousand mark for total confirmed cases of coronavirus.
The state’s total now stands at 30,153 cases since the pandemic started.Health officials announced another 377 new cases Thursday pushing Delaware’s seven day rolling average to yet another record high. That average is now more than 372 cases per day.
Statewide hospitalizations are also up again and now stand at 165 - the highest since late May. There are 30 people in Delaware currently considered critically ill with the virus.
The average percentage of people testing positive is up to nearly 15 percent. And the average percentage of positive tests jumped to 6.5 percent after a one day spike over 12 percent, but health officials say they are checking for glitches and that number will likely come down.
The state reports no new coronavirus related deaths Thursday. That death toll remains at 742.
Gov. John Carney announced new restrictions Tuesday to try to slow the increasing spread of coronavirus. They include restricting all indoor public gatherings and restaurants to 30 percent of a venue’s fire code capacity with a 50-person cap. Private gatherings in homes can have no more than 10 people.
Those new restrictions go into effect Monday at 8 am.
