Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Delaware health officials announced another slow day of coronavirus spread.

The state reports 75 new cases Thursday after just 30 on Wednesday - which officials attributed to a fewer number of tests processed over the holiday weekend. The total number of cases statewide since March 11 now stands at 9,171.

Delaware is also reporting another death related to the virus, bringing the state’s death toll to 345.

The most recent death was an 86-year-old Sussex County woman who lived in a long-term care facility.

Recoveries from COVID-19 in Delaware passed the 5,000 mark Thursday and now stand at 5,010.

Hospitalizations continue to drop. This time by four to 192 statewide. 35 people are critically ill.

The five-day average percentage of people testing positive fell below seven percent.  The five-day average of new positive cases is now below 70. Both metrics have been trending downward for weeks.
