Sharp, Bennett win Rehoboth election

Voters in the City of Rehoboth Beach elect a newcomer and a familiar face to the Board of Commissioners.

Mary "Toni" Sharp and Tim Bennett topped the field of four candidates.

Sharp collected 622 votes, returning her to the board where she served 6 years before stepping aside in 2019.

Bennett got 621 votes to earn his first term on the board.

Incumbent Commissioner Richard Byrne garnered 559 and another challenger Rachel Macha received 491 votes.

Commissioner Pat Coluzzi decided not to run for another term.

Bennett and Sharp will be sworn in for three-year terms at the September 17, 2021 Board of Commissioners meeting.

1,190 voters participated in Saturday’s annual municipal election, with 572 people voting absentee.
