Three candidates compete for at-large Dover City Council seat

Dover’s April 20th municipal election has a single contested race with three candidates vying for the Dover City Council's at-large council seat. 

And Delaware Public Media’s Roman Battaglia talked to all three of those candidates

The first is Andre Boggerty. Boggerty is a human resources and labor relations professional, originally from Detroit.  He says he fell in love with Dover after being stationed at the Dover Air Force Base.

The second candidate is 28 year-old LaVaughn McCutchen. McCutchen is a teaching assistant at the Capital School District.

McCutchen talks about his goal of inspiring other young people to get involved in politics, whether that be through activism, voting, or running for office.

The third last candidate is Michael Lewis, a former journalist for the Delaware State News who now manages public relations at the Dover International Speedway.

The election for the next at-large City Council member in Dover takes place on April 20th from 7am to 8pm at the Elks lodge on Saulsbury Road.
