A change in leadership is coming to Brandywine School District.
Brandywine School District Superintendent Mark Holodick announced Wednesday he is leaving the district for a job at the University of Delaware’s Academy for School Leadership.
Holodick will join the Delaware Academy for School Leadership as a senior leadership specialist in February.
He has served as superintendent of the 10,000-student district for ten years. He previously worked in the district as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal.
In a joint statement, Brandywine School Board President Ralph Ackerman and Vice President John Skrobot III commended Holodick for his work as superintendent, saying he has focused on student achievement and safety, as well as equity, school climate and inclusion.
"Under his leadership, BSD's reputation as a district of choice has remained strong, with steady enrollment growth, a robust catalog of enrichment opportunities, great parent and community engagement, and of course a rigorous curriculum," they said.
Holodick was named statewide Superintendent of the Year in 2017 and Delaware School Administrator of the Year in 2016.
