An additional 5 COVID-19 deaths in Delaware this week

Coronaivrus numbers in Delaware remain flat.

 

State public health officials report 5 new deaths this week, bringing the death toll to 593.

 

And while Delaware positive case total grew by 373 between Thursday and Friday, state health officials say 291 of those were old test results reported by the Department of Correction this week. The Division of Public Health says the number of new positive cases added Thursday was 82.

 

Overall, the state added 501 positive test results this week, bringing the Delaware’s total cases to date to 16,340.

 

Hospitalizations remain low, with 38 people in the hospital Thursday and ten considered critically ill.

 

The seven-day average for percentage of positive tests is at 4.3. The average number of new cases per day sits at 72.

 

No new deaths were reported at long term care facilities this week. The total number remains at 362.

 

A total of 8,613 individuals have recovered from the virus in the First State.
