Storm clean up prompting schools to close Monday

Delaware Public Media

As Delaware cleans-up from Saturday's blizzard, some schools throughout the state are starting to announce they will close Monday to give themselves and the state time to fully dig out.

In New Castle County – Appoquinimink, Brandywine, Christina, Colonial, New Castle County Vo-tech, and Red Clay school districts have already closed Monday.

In Central Delaware – Caesar Rodney, Capital, Lake Forest, Milford, Polytech, Smyrna, and Woodbridge will be closed.

And in Sussex County – Cape Henlopen, Delmar, Indian River, Laurel, Seaford and Sussex Tech are closed Monday.

Among First State colleges, the University of Delaware's Newark campus and other New Castle County locations are closed.  Delaware State University and Wesley College are also both closed.

Delaware Tech’s Wilmington, Dover and Stanton campuses will also be closed Monday.  Del-Tech Georgetown will open at 10:30am.  Wilmington University is closing all of its campuses – except its Georgetown campus, which will be open for evening classes.

Goldey-Beacom College has canceled its daytime classes.
