Delaware Junction Country Music Fest set to debut in Harrington

Country music fans descend on Delaware again this weekend for the second major country music festival this summer in the First State.

The Delaware Junction rolls into Harrington about a month and a half after the Big Barrel Country  festival drew about 35,000 fans to the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway in June.

The festival will be held on 360 acres of land at the Delaware State Fairgrounds and surrounding areas through Sunday August 16th.

Delaware State Fair officials, music promoter Live Nation and Dewey Beach businessman Alex Pires’ company Highway One announced they were partnering to bring Delaware Junction to Harrington last October. Pires initially had planned to host the country music festival at a private Sussex County Farm but withdrew his bid after facing criticism from area residents.
