First State motorists are seeing falling prices at the gas pump as the 4th of July weekend approaches.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average cost of a gallon of regular in Delaware dropped four cents over the past week– from $2.22 to $2.18.
It’s also down 18 cents since the start of the month and is now identical to where it stood a year ago at this time
And Delawaregasprices.com reports there’s nearly a dozen stations up and down the state charging $2.08 or less.
AAA officials say seasonal demand continues to grow, it is offset by rise in crude oil supply that helped push the price of oil down to just over $43 a barrel at the end of trading last week
The national average currently sits at $2.27 –down three cents from last week. A year ago the national average was at $2.31.
