Art Loop Wilmington showcases venues across city

Art Loop Wilmington, a self-guided tour through city art venues, starts this Dec. 1. The event features over 20 stops, showcasing local painters, photographers and crafters.

The tour is broken up into three loops: north, west and downtown.

The north loop, features venues in Centerville, Greenville and Arden.

One stop is the Buzz Ward Village Center in Arden. Representative Bernadette Donohue thinks it’s a great way to showcase area artwork.

"There are many artists in the neighborhood and it's always been an arts and crafts community," Donohue said. "We do get visitors from the City of Wilmington and other area Delaware neighborhoods."

Downtown venues, like the Creative Vision Factory and Grand Opera House, will showcase local artists in various media.

The west loop will have large metal sculpture works at The Mill, and a new watercolor exhibit entitled Totem the Mezzanine Gallery.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from theDelaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
