Delaware Art Alliance names new president of board of directors

Delaware Arts Alliance announces Dan Cruce as Board President for 2016

The Delaware Arts Alliance has a new president of its Board of Directors.

Dan Cruce is currently Vice President of Education at Hope Street Group, an education advocacy organization.

Previously, Cruce was Deputy Secretary and Chief of Staff at the Delaware Department of Education. He also served as the Assistant Superintendent at the Christina School District.

The Delaware Arts Alliance advocates for the arts and arts education throughout the state.  Since its founding in 2009, the DAA has lobbied state lawmakers for continued funding of the arts in Delaware.

In a statement, Cruce said, “with the upcoming elections, it is vital to communicate to candidates as well as voters the great impact of the arts on Delaware’s economy and culture.”

Cruce also currently serves as president of the Delaware Arts Consortium Board of Directors and sits on the Executive Committee of the Delaware Theatre Company’s Board of Directors.

This piece is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
