Music School of Delaware welcomes new Wilmington Community Orchestra conductor

Music School of Delaware

After a year-long national search, The Music School of Delaware has announced the appointment of a new conductor for its Wilmington Community Orchestra.

The baton has been handed to Jonathan Moser, an accomplished violin player and a music professor at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.

To celebrate his appointment, the Music School will host a free performance and a “meet the conductor” reception at the school’s Wilmington branch tonight.

“On Monday, we'll be working on two works, Brahm's Tragic Overture, an amazing piece of work, and then we'll also be working through at least part of the Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique," said Moser.  "Both of those works will be will be performed by the Wilmington Community Orchestra further on in the season, in the spring."

The reception and performance by the Wilmington Community Orchestra begins tonight at 7 at the Music School of Delaware.

This piece is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
