With Election Day approaching quickly, candidates in the First State are sharpening their pitches to voters in an effort to win their support.
On October 15th, Delaware Public Media and the University of Delaware’s Center for Political Communication hosted the 2014 Delaware Debates featuring the races for U.S. House and U.S. Senate.
The U.S. House debate featured Rep. John Carney, the incumbent Democrat, answering moderator and student questions. Republican Rose Izzo, who had previously confirmed her participation, withdrew two weeks before the debate. Rep. Carney was offered the opportunity to attend and answer questions alone and accepted.
That U.S. House event was followed by the U.S. Senate debate between incumbent Democrat Sen. Chris Coons and Republican Kevin Wade.
