Arrest made in Del Tech bomb threat

A Sussex county man has been arrested in connection with a recent bomb threat made to Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown.

The June 24th bomb incident prompted a five hour evacuation of the college’s Owens campus. Bomb sniffing dogs were called in but no explosives were found.

Police say 40-year old David Detwiler admitted to calling in the bomb threat and has been charged with felony terroristic threatening.

The Seaford man was arrested in connection with two similar incidents two years ago.

Delaware State Police charged Detwiler in 2012, with two felony counts related to bomb threats made to Georgetown Elementary School and the Howard T. Ennis School in Georgetown.
