DelDOT crews will begin working overnight Tuesday to prepare the state’s roadways for yet another bout of snow.
The storm is only expected to drop 1-2 inches in parts of New Castle and Kent counties, but that isn’t stopping crews from hitting the pavement starting at 3:30am Tuesday. About half of New Castle County’s crews will work the early shift. A quarter of Kent’s will do the same.
In Sussex County, supervisors will monitor the situation overnight.
Officials at DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center will be following the storm’s forecast throughout the night, as well as road temperatures and traffic cameras, in case more employees need to be called in.
DelDOT reports it has already spent over $12 million dollars dealing with storm clean-up this winter.
