Elena Delle Donne begins her first professional playoff run Friday night.
The former UD star and the Chicago Sky begin the WNBA post-season at home, entertaining Indiana in game one of the best of three Eastern Conference semifinals.
It’s the first ever trip to the playoffs for Chicago and Delle Donne has been a big part of the Sky’s success.
The rookie finished third in the league’s Most Valuable Player voting after ending the season fourth in scoring with 18 points per game. She also swept all four WNBA Rookie of the Month awards this season
But the first round match-up with Indiana is a challenging. Chicago lost 3 of four regular season meetings with the defending WNBA champs, but Delle Donne did miss one of those contests while recovering from a concussion.
Game two of the series is Sunday at Indiana. Game three, if needed, would be back in Chicago Tuesday.
