Still no novel coronavirus cases confirmed in Delaware, as state continues to test

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

There remain no confirmed cases of the deadly new coronavirus disease COVID-19 in Delaware, as the state continues to test People Under Investigation.

As of Wednesday, 17 Delawareans have tested negative. Public health officials are in the process of testing three individuals, one in each county.

Officials are also monitoring 31 non-symptomatic people who are considered at-risk because of their travel history.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States has passed 1,000, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

Cases have been reported in states surrounding Delaware. As of Wednesday morning, New Jersey and Pennsylvania each had 14 active cases, and Maryland and Virginia each had 9.

A case has been confirmed in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, which borders New Castle County.

State officials are asking anyone who has travelled to China, Iran, Italy or South Korea in the past two weeks to contact the Division of Public Health — whether or not they have symptoms.

Contact the state Division of Public Health at 1-866-408-1899.
