Delaware's COVID-19 numbers decline Saturday

The First State saw fewer cases added to its COVID-19 total Saturday and hospitalizations fell.

The state's death toll also held steady.

State health officials reported only 74 new cases on July 4, leaving its total since March 11 just shy of 12,000 at 11,996.

There were also no new deaths reported, leaving Delaware's total during the pandemic at 512.

There were also no new deaths reported, leaving Delaware's total during the pandemic at 512. And hospitalizations dropped again, falling by 3 t0 54 with 13 people critically ill,

The 5-day average of new positive cases has been over 100 for over a week and currently stands at 137.  But 5-day average of the percentage of people testing postive is ticking down – and fell to 4.5 Saturday.

6,711 people to date are confired to have recovered from the virus, while nearly 109,000 people have tested negative.
