COVID-19 cases in First State pass 9,000

Delaware saw its COVID-19 cases pass 9,000 total Tuesday.

State health officials reported 101 new cases, along with 3 new COVID-19 related deaths.

The state’s total number of cases since March 11th  is now 9,066, and its death toll is at 335.

The latest victims were between 69 and 92 years-old. Two lived in Sussex County - while one each lived in New Castle and Kent counties Three had underlying health conditions and two lived in long-term care facilities. 

State health officials also noted one previously reported death was a duplicate and taken off the total to date.

Current hospitalizations fell by 4 to 201. That’s the lowest level it’s been at since April 12th. 38 people are critically ill.

Another 109 patients are considered recovered from the virus, bringing that total to 4,802 since the start of the outbreak.
