Delaware State Police are investigating an incident Thursday when a man pulled a gun on protestors outside the Delaware Republican Party Headquarters.

The man was at a Lauren Witzke rally and according to state police, pulled a gun on a group of people protesting the GOP U.S. Senate candidate.

A Protestor at the rally captured footage of the man pointing his gun at them while streaming on Facebook Live.

Witzke quickly denounced the act on Facebook, saying "Firearms should only ever be used to defend life and property. I denounce this behavior completely, and will support law enforcement as they work to resolve the situation."

Witzke is an outspoken advocate of gun rights.

State Police were alerted to the incident, and sought to find the suspect, but he fled the scene.

Delaware GOP party chair Jane Brady says,

"It clearly is innapropriate to take out a gun and in this kind of enviroment where we're trying to keep violence down it's bad to appear to do something that might instigate some. It has been reported to the police and we're gonna fully cooperate with them."

This is not the first time this year political rally in the First State resulted in a call to law enforcement

State Police are still investigating an incident earlier this month where six people were egged while attending a Republican rally.
