The annual Delaware State Fair is in full swing in Harrington.
The 10-day event opened last week with all the rides, animal exhibits and deep fried candy bars one expects from a state fair, but it's also kicking the tires on some new features.
The fair, which kicked off last Thursday and runs through July 26, has its first mobile app this year.
A new scavenger hunt is open for families who want to learn a little more about First State agriculture.
And The Roost, the fair’s new beer and wine garden, features local spirits from throughout the First State in an effort to appeal to a slightly different audience
Trista Jester, the head bartender at The Roost, says the clientele she’s seen so far isn’t much different from previous state fairs - but they seem to like the new option.
"Actually, it’s just your normal fare. And I’ve heard so many compliments from a lot of customers anywhere from young to old -- they’re excited that we’re here" said Jester. "Business has been good. Thursday was a little slow and I assume it’s because people were just finding out that we were here. Each day it’s just getting busier and busier."
